11,919 Infections Logged; Over 114.46 Crore Beneficiaries Immunized

New Delhi: India recorded 11,919 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.28 per cent accounted for 11,242 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,38,85,132. The daily positivity rate stood at 0. 97 per cent, less than 2 per cent for 45 consecutive days.

The number of active cases stood at 1,28,762 accounting for 0.37 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a rise by 207 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.35 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 470 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,64,623.

All coronavirus-related restrictions in Madhya Pradesh have been withdrawn with immediate effect, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced in Bhopal on Wednesday. However, But it obligated all government employees, shopkeepers/vendors, and employees of cinema halls to be completely vaccinated, while movie-goers must have had at least one dose of anti-coronavirus vaccines.

Adar Poonawalla, the chief of Serum Institute of India on Wednesday cited vaccine hesitancy was the “greatest threat” in overcoming the pandemic. He urged all eligible citizens to get themselves vaccinated as early as possible.

So far 114.46 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country , including 73.44 lakh doses administered in the last 24 hours. As per ICMR, 12.32 lakh infected samples were tested in the last 24 hours. So far 62.82 crore samples have been tested.
