2 Army Pilots Died in Helicopter Crash in J&K’s Udhampur

Jammu and Kashmir: An Army helicopter made a forced landing at the Shiv Garh Dhar in Patnitop area, along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in the Udhampur district, on Tuesday, killing two pilots. The deceased officers have been identified as Major Rohit Kumar and Major Anuj Rajput.

The Army helicopter’s pilots were gravely injured, according to officials. Locals rescued them and rushed them to the hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead. Both the pilots were Major-rank officers, a senior army officer said.

Officials informed that the incident took place between 10:30 AM and 10:45 AM in the Shivgarh Dhar area. The team of police and army said there was heavy fog in the area, so it cannot be said right now whether it was a helicopter crash or a crash landing.

The news of the crash of an army helicopter has come to light from the Shivgarh Dhar in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police and Army said that after receiving the information, the team of police and army were sent towards Shivgarh Dhar. 

The Northern Command of the army on Twitter appreciated the pilot’s efforts saying “Major Rohit Kumar and Major Anuj Rajput made a supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on September 21st 2021 at Patnitop.”
