Attendance for Class 1 to 8 not Mandated Beyond April 15

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh Education Department has issued a notice that students from Classes 1 to 8 are not mandated to come to school after April 15th. Instructions have been issued by the Directorate of Public Instruction to all divisional joint director education and district education officers in this regard. Attendance for teachers is however mandated.

The notice further read that the Chhattisgarh Government School Education Department has extended the current academic session from March 31st to April 30th/

In compliance with the National Education Policy, the state of Chhattisgarh has set up its own policy under which the student’s promotion from CLass 1 to 8 is not decided based on the child’s performance in exams. Continous evaluation of the child is done throughout the academic session that forms the promotion basis.
