31,382 Infections Logged; Differently Abled to Be Immunized At Home

New Delhi: India reported 31,382 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 97.78per cent accounted for 32,542 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3,28,48,273. The daily positivity rate stood at 2.00 per cent, less than 3 per cent for 24 consecutive days.

The number of active cases stood at 3,00,162  accounting for 0.89 per cent of the total number of cases. The active cases reported a decline of 1,478 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate recorded at 1.33 per cent reported a spike in deaths recording 318 fatalities, taking the cumulative death toll to 4,46,368.

Kerala and Maharashtra continue to record a spiking rise. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu emerging as a new hotspot has witnessed a drastically rising infection curve. Minister for Medical and Family Welfare Subramanian announced to hold the third mega vaccination camp on September 26 through 20,000 camps and appealed to members of the public to make use of it by extending their support to the government’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Centre on Thursday announced to engage a team to vaccinate differently-abled and those with restricted mobility at their residences.

India’s cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination coverage reached 84.15 crores, the Union Health Ministry. Nearly, 72.20 lakh beneficiaries were vaccinated in the last 24 hours.
