Amman, Jordan: The ongoing Asian Boxing Championship in Amman, Jordan has already earned India 6 medals. After beating Borworn Kadamduan of Thailand in the 75 kgs category in the quarter-finals, Sumit has advanced to the semi-final match of the tournament. Though Sumit has made his mark in the game and has secured a position in the semi-finals, another boxer Sachin could not make his way to the semis in the 71 kgs category. Failing to defeat opponent Aslanbek Shymbergenov from Kazhakistan, Sachin succumbed to a match score of 1-4 in the 71 kgs category. The boxing federation also tweeted about him and encouraged him to work harder next time. “Comeback stronger champ. #AsianChampionships #Boxing”, they wrote.
Another defeat came for India after Lakshya Chahar suffered a 0-5 defeat against Aslanov Odiljon from Uzbekistan in the quarter-final of the 80 kg category.
