Mohali: From Chandigarh Railway Station to PCA stadium in Mohali- geared up to host the first Test match between Sri Lanka and India, digital billboards remind you of Kohli’s take to the field for his 100thTest on Friday.

About half a day after BCCI announced crowd attendance in the milestone match, long queues have been witnessed enquiring for ticket availability. Two groups of fans were seen hooting at the stadium counters today as they rushed to buy their chance to witness the moment.

While this would be Kohli’s hundredth Test, Captain Sharma who parallelly embarked on the journey would be heading India for the first time in a red ball format. Congratulatory messages from the masters themselves poured in as the event neared its timeline. From master blaster Sachin Tendulkar to current coach Dravid and VVS Laxman, best wishes and applauds poured in abundantly.

Kohli’s hunger, rage and aura were unmatchable as Kohli underlined the value of fitness as he single-handedly drew India over the line in a run chase for the history books. Cut to March 2022, tables have turned, relieved from Captaincy of all format, Kohli’s intense personality was making way for a carefree and chirpy demeanour.

Well past the ’30s, the first Test against Sri Lanka would be a milestone match for the white ball maestro and the Test ‘centurion’ who reached seniority quite soon.
