- Amid Corona virus, Capital battles with another disease "Jaundice", where the total cases reached to 230
- Chhattisgarh registered 33 corona positive cases till date, however, 13 have been cured and discharged successfully
Raipur, Chhattisgarh: Apart from COVID-19, capital city Raipur is facing an onslaught of jaundice with more than 22 patients admitted for treatment today, total 230 cases has been detected, officials said on Thursday.
State nodal officer for Raipur division for COVID-19, Dr Subash Pandey, is visiting all the urban primary health centres and camps of different areas of Raipur. Today, 746 houses have been visited by the team of Health Department on the instructions given by Joint Director Health Services and Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Meera Baghel. So far 267 patients were screened through the camps, in which 167 patients are identified as potential patients.
One special team is established by RMC and health department to ensure pure drinking water supply after treating the water and also distributing chlorine tablets and sanitizing the affected areas. Out of 130 patients examined, 22 new jaundice positive patients have been found. A total of 116 patients have been admitted to the district hospital so far, in which 33 patients have been discharged and completely recovered.
At present, 78 affected people are being admitted and treated at the district hospital.Dr Subhash Pandey added that generally during the summer months, complaints of jaundice are reported and the health department has been put on alert. A probe report has confirmed that Hepatitis A and Hepatitis E are prevalent and most of the patients are undergoing treatment at the district hospital.
The most affected areas are Idgahbhata, Sweeper Colony, Mangal Bazaar, and Changorabhata among others.
