Cabinet Approves Dissolution of CPA, Works to be handed over to PCW and Forest Dept

Bhopal: SS Chauhan led govt on Thursday at a cabinet meeting approved the proposal to dissolve the Capital Project Administration. The decision was taken based on a report and a blueprint submitted by respective authorities. Home minister Narottam Mishra in a press briefing informed about the closure.

As per the plan, the maintenance of civil structures would be handed over to the Public Works Department (PWC), while the green corridor of the state would be monitored by a separate branch created under the Forest Department. On directions of the CM, the employees of CPA would be merged with PWC and Forest Department entrusted with their previous responsibilities.

The decision to dissolve CPA came after CM Chauhan expressed displeasure with the execution of the body. 52 roads covering 92 km of the city and 132 acres of green spaces under CPA will now be overseen by PCW and Forest Dept.

Apart from these the cabinet also saw the ratification of electricity dues of domestic consumers, permission to introduce Madhya Pradesh Panchayat Raj and Gram Swaraj Amendment Bill during budget was also granted.
