Cabinet Sub-Committee to Convene on Preparations for Paddy Procurement in Kharif Season
- Paddy may be procured from November 1st, officials said

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has announced November 1 as the tentative date to procure paddy in the state. However, the Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting at 12 noon would finalize the commencement.
The Cabinet Sub-Committee would be held under the chairmanship of Food Minister Amarjit Bhagat at his residence office Sarguja Kutir.
The meeting will review the policy of procurement of paddy and custom milling in Kharif marketing year 2021-22. The meeting will also hold a discussion on the preliminary status of procurement of paddy at support price in the coming year.
The meeting will also be attended by Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey, Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar, School Education Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam and Higher Education Minister Umesh Patel.
It should be noted, in view of the controversy that surfaced in recent times, the state authorities have decided to delineate a infallible procurement policy this year. Earlier in 2020, paddy procurement had commenced on December 1st that attracted huge allegations by the opposition.
