CG Ranks 3rd Lowest Unemployment Rate In Country

Raipur: Chhattisgarh ranks third among the states with the lowest unemployment rate in the country, according to the latest report by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE). As per the data released by CMIE, a private company, as of February 2022, Chhattisgarh stands third with an unemployment rate of 1.7 per cent as policy decisions and better management of the state government helped create various employment opportunities for the youth.
Highlighting the CMIE statistics, a government press release said Chhattisgarh has adopted a new model of development three years ago with the goal of inclusive development. This model emphasized increasing economic connectivity between the villages and the cities and initiatives such as Suraji Gaon Yojana, Narva-Garva-Ghurva-Bari program, Godhan Nyay Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana were taken up for the economic empowerment of villages.
Even during the first and second waves of Covid-19, the state government claims that the economy of Chhattisgarh remained untouched by the nationwide economic slowdown. Despite the challenges of this phase, the unemployment rate in Chhattisgarh remained completely under control.
According to the reports, Odisha has the lowest unemployment rate in the country with one per cent, according to the newly released CMIE data. Meghalaya is second with 1.4 per cent and Karnataka is fourth with 2 per cent. The unemployment rate is 32.3 per cent in Rajasthan, 31 per cent in Haryana, 15 per cent in Jharkhand and 14 per cent in Bihar.
