CG: Snake Enters Shiv Mahapuran Program, Devotees Worship it as Nagdevta
Raipur, Chhattisgarh: The Katha program of Pandit Pradeep Mishra, was organized at Dahi Handi Maidan in Gudhiyari, Raipur from November 9 to November 13. More than 1 lakh devotees accumulated there every day. In the Katha program, he told people how to overcome the troubles of life by worshiping Shiva.
In the middle of the Shiv Mahapuran Katha program, a snake entered the venue. Some devotees were scared while some were surprised to see the black snake entering the venue amidst the crowd. Some people also started worshiping it as a snake god. When a person caught hold of the snake’s tail, some women came running close to it and started worshipping by touching it.
People started chanting Jai Ho Nagdevta. A video of this incident surfaced on social media platforms on Monday. The program was on Shiva Mahapuran. Snakes are described in the scriptures as the decoration of Lord Shiva. Some devotees called it a supernatural phenomenon.
People started seeing the arrival of the snake as a miracle and thereby started worshiping it. However, some people present in the crowd later caught the snake by its tail and released it in an open space some distance away from the venue. Some locals claimed that a day before, they saw this snake in the upper part of the pandal, but in a shorter span of time, it vanished. No reports of the snake harming anyone came to the fore.
