Chalo Delhi: Rajasthan Farmers after Being Invited by Farmers at Delhi Border
- Farmer groups have called for reinforcements.

- SC to hear Lakhimpur Kheri Violence case.
Chandigarh: Farmers protesting at Delhi borders have called in for reinforcements ahead of the SC hearing this week. Leaders of the protesting farmers unions have invited people from Haryana, Punjab, UP and other states to join their movement at the Delhi borders.
Earlier this month, the SC had announced to examine the roots of the protest and state if the protest is absolute and whether the farmers are following law taking over states and disrupting normalcy. The apex court strongly condemned the Rail Roko protest held by the farmers union in solidarity with the bereaved families of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. The Central Govt has opposed further farmer protests citing the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. This resistance by the centre came after the farmers union from Rajasthan had moved the SC urging permission to launch “Satyagrah’ with 200 farmers at Jantar Mantar, Delhi. However, the apex court objected to the plea filed in State HC saying, “When you have already challenged the law you can’t be allowed to protest? You can’t come to court and then also protest outside? If the matter is already sub-judice protests cannot be allowed.” Justices AM Khanwilkar and CT Ravikumar argued why the farmers protest when the SC has put a stay at the farm laws already.
Arguing over the plea, Attorney General Secretary, KK Venugopal asserted avoidance of incidents like those in Lakhimpur Kheri. He further added,“ My lordship, please say that when laws are already being dealt with, the protests cannot go on, it leads to unfortunate incidents.”
