Chhattisgarh: BJP to Start its 3 Day “Chintan Shivir” in Bastar Today

Story Highlights
  • Chintan Shivir targets assembly elections 2023
  • Congress captures all 12 assembly seats in the Bastar division
  • Rahul Gandhi to visit Bastar soon after

Amidst the rise in crisis between leading congress party leaders CM Baghel and TS Singh Deo, the opponent party BJP has started its Chintan Shivir preparations in Bastar. The 3 days long Chintan Shivir will focus on 2023 assembly election strategies. Names of some BJP leaders have come out informally who are going to be part of the Chintan Shivir. It includes BJP’s national co-organization general secretary Shiv Prakash, Chhattisgarh in-charge D Purandeshwari, national general secretary BL Santosh, and Chhattisgarh co-in-charge Nitin Naveen among others.

The Shivir is set to start at noon today and will be held in closed rooms. As they are going to plan election strategies for the upcoming assembly elections, they do not want to leave any stone unturned to make their plans remain confidential. Also, the rising differences between congress leaders and Chattisgarh CM Buupesh Baghel and Health Minister TS Singh Deo have paved the way for the opponent to take advantage of their conflict. Though there is no news of Singh Deo joining BJP anytime soon, it is speculated that this might be one of BJP’s primary agendas during assembly elections in 2023.

In Bastar, Congress dominates all the 12 assembly seats. Bhima Mandavi of BJP had won from Dantewada but he was killed by Naxalites during the Lok Sabha elections. In the by-election that followed after his death, his wife Ojaswi Mandavi contested elections against Devi Karma of Congress but she lost. And that is how Congress has been ruling all 12 assembly seats in the Bastar region. More details from the Chintan Shivir will be shared once it comes out.
