Raipur: The Bhartiya Janata Party has targeted Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and his government for the prohibition of alcohol, rice for the poor, and loan waiver for women of self-helped groups as donations. A festival known for the state’s great charity culture has now witnessed heated politics over the Cherchera Festival 2023.
“Because, giving charity is a symbol of generosity and taking charity is the destruction of ego”, tweeted CM Baghel.
Chhattisgarh’s famous folk festival has many dimensions of generosity visible in the farmers. It has been a tradition to give the crop produced here to the needy of society, workers, and animals, and birds. BJP spokesperson Sandeep Sharma said that today Chherchera is Punni. HE has demanded additional five kilos of rice per person from the center.
