Chhattisgarh Employment Mission to be Headed by CM
- State to launch the CHHATTISGARH ROZGAR MISSION.
- Mission to helm employment of nearly 12-15 lakh individuals.
- State was ranked fourth lowest in the list of the unemployment across the country.
Raipur: As per the report released by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), Chhattisgarh stood fourth in the list of states having the lowest employment rates. Upset with the ranking, State CM Bhupesh Baghel announced the launch of the Chhattisgarh Employment Mission. A committee would be constituted under the presidency of CM that would survey, create and engage youth. Under the mission, the state aims to create 12 to 15 lakh employment opportunities in the next five years.
The chief secretary is appointed as the vice-chairman of the mission, while the Principal Secretary, Dr Alok Shukla has been authorized as the chief executive officer of the mission. Under the discretion of Dr Shukla, the blueprint of the mission will be laid down after a detailed discussion. Various other senior officers including the Managing Director of the Minor Forest Produce Association, Director of technical education, Director of employment and training, director of the state Fisheries Dept, Managing Directors of the village industries handicrafts development board, khadi board and state rural livelihood mission and Chief Executive Officer of Gordhan Nyaya mission.
Through this mission, the state aims to coordinate and launch new programs that will develop the skills of the youth. Institutes like IIT, IIM, NIT have announced to support this mission and leverage their services.
After controlling the reigns of the state, the Baghel govt in the past three years has launched several schemes to improve the living standards of the people of the state. With an aim to promote the socio-economic status of the state, authorities established economic connectivity between the villages and cities through various innovative schemes and programmes including Suraaji Gaon Yojana, Narva-Garva-Ghurva-Bari programme, Gordhan Nyay Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Kisaan Nyay Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhoomiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana, the establishment of Rural Industrial Parks were introduced in villages.
