Chhattisgarh Honored with 11 Awards in Minor Forest Produce

- Chhattisgarh awarded as the best state in appropriate utilization of minor forest produce.
- State received 11 awards on the 6th August in a virtual event.
- Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda presented the momento to Dr Premsai Tekam.
Raipur: Chhattisgarh on 6th August was awarded the fast emerging model state in the field of collection, processing and marketing of minor forest produce. The GoI had virtually felicitated the state with a total of 11 awards including 9 different sub categories and 02- sub categories in the State Minor Forest Produce Association.
Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda presented the trophy to Tribal Welfare, Cooperation and School Education Minister Dr Premsai Tekam during an event organized by the former minister during his stay in Chattisgarh.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Munda appreciated the strategies implemented by state to collect minor forest produce that serves as an economic support for tribal and forest dwellers residing in Varanchal.
Managing Director of Tribal Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Praveen Krishna, Secretary Tribal Welfare DD Singh, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Forest Force Chief Rakesh Chaturvedi and Managing Director State Minor Forest Produce Association Sanjay Shukla also addressed the program.
