New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will take a confidence vote in the house today to prove that all MLAs of Aam Admi Party (AAP) are with him. Arvind Kejriwal said that he wanted to take a majority test to prove that his party MLAs would not be tempted to cross over, despite BJPs attempts to break his party and dislodge his government.
“The people of Delhi have unwavering faith in their elected government, which no conspiracy can shake. Babasaheb Zindabad, Indian Constitution Zindabad, Democracy Zindabad”, tweeted the chief minister today.
The Delhi Assembly’s special session today is likely to witness a noisy showdown. Bhartiya Janta Party alleged a scam in Delhi’s education department, claiming that the Delhi government increased the budget for the construction of classrooms in its existing schools ignoring the guidelines of the Central Public Works Department. Following these allegations, Delhi CM attacked the central government over inflation and said that “BJP’s Operation Lotus has failed in Delhi”.
Last week, Arvind Kejriwal held a meeting at his home which was attended by 53 of AAP’s 62 MLAs in Delhi. The rest were accounted for and joined virtually, who later went to Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial at Rajghat.
