Corona Bulletin: Chhattisgarh reported 2 new deaths, 113 fresh cases; tally rose to 1549
- Overall in Chhattisgarh, 1549 have tested positive including 826 active cases and 715 are said to be recovered from the virus
- The death toll due to coronavirus in the state has now reached to 8 fatalities
Chhattisgarh: After initial success in curbing coronavirus, Chhattisgarh is now seems to struggle with continuous increase in number of infected people by the virus. On Sunday, Chhattisgarh witnessed another rise in one day spike with 113 new cases, this the tally rises to 1549 in the state.
Of these new cases, 44 are from Korba, 28 from Balrampur, 14 from Janjgir- jhampa, 6 cases each recorded from Raipur, Durg and Raigarh, 3 from Balodabazar while 2 cases each reported from Bilaspur, Jashpur and Gariyabandh district.
On a brighter side, 84 patients were discharged from different hospitals following recovery as on Sunday, taking the total tally of recovered patient to 715 since the pandemic emerged in the state.
Meanwhile, Two deaths due to COVID-19 along with co-morbidity were reported in the last 24 hours. With this, total 8 Covid deaths has been reported in Chhattisgarh so far.
Out of the two deaths, One was a 52 year old male, who was earlier being treated in AIIMS, Raipur for cancer bladder who tested positive on 12th June and subsequently shifted to covid19 ICU on 13th June where he took his last breath and the other was a 43 years old patient who was suffering from Tuberculosis meningitis and being treated for covid19 after tested positive on 6th June 2020.
With a population of 2.9 crore, Chhattisgarh has conducted over 1,03,895 tests. Of which, 1549 have tested positive till date including 826 active cases and 715 are said to be recovered from the virus, as per the data released by state health department.
In all, 25 districts are affected from the pandemic outbreak in the state. Korba had the highest number of Covid-19 cases at 195 confirmed infections, followed by Bilaspur(158), Balodabazar(135), Raipur(128), Janjgir-Champa(122), Mungeli(110) and so on.
1,59,276 people have been kept in 20,208 quarantine centres in the state while 54,850 people are in home quarantine.
Chhattisgarh reportedly moving towards community spread as there is a high spurt in the number of infections. Recently, there are many fresh cases that have come to light with no travel history and no contact tracing.
