Corona India: 75.27% recovery rate, active cases stands at 22.8%, 1.85% Death toll; Tally passes 31 lakh

New Delhi: India’s coronavirus count passed 31 lakh today with a single day jump of 61,408 new diseases over the most recent 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said in the health bulletin. Meanwhile, 836 new fatalities take the death toll to 57,542, reports the Health Ministry.

Around 23 lakh COVID-19 patients have recovered up until this point after 57,468 people recovered in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate remained at 75.27 percent.

The number of coronavirus cases in India crossed 3 million only 15 days after the nation reported 2 million cases, as per information. India logged in excess of 2 million coronavirus cases on August 7. The total cases in India are currently 31,06,348. India is behind Brazil and the US in the race of having highest number of coronavirus cases. India has been announcing the most elevated number of every day COVID-19 cases throughout in the past 18 days. 

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a cumulative total of 3,59,02,137 samples have been tested up to August 23 with 6,09,917 samples being tested on Sunday.

In a first, the nation’s top medical research body is attempting to make ICMR vaccine portal, as a repository for all data identified with vaccine development in India. The ICMR vaccine entry would be made public by the following week. 

Maharashtra with 6,82,383 has the most elevated cases in India, followed by Tamil Nadu (3,79,385) and Andhra Pradesh (3,53,111). 

The COVID-19 tally in Thane reached 1,14,765 on Monday after 881 new cases were found in the Maharashtra district, officials said.The district also reported 28 more deaths due to COVID-19, taking the total number of fatalities to 3,268.

The overall number of global coronavirus cases has topped 23.3 million, while the deaths have increased to over 807,000, according to the Johns Hopkins University.As of Monday morning, the total number of cases stood at 23,348,081 and the fatalities rose to 807,383, the University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed in its latest update.
