Corona India: crosses 15 lakh mark; record over 48000 new cases & 768 deaths in a day
New Delhi: The novel coronavirus has infected more than 16 million people and killed at least 6,59,000 worldwide. Currently, the US, Brazil and India are the most infected country in the world with over 1.5 Million cases. The total number of people infected due to the virus has reached to 1,66,67,130.
More than 2,50,000 new cases & 5,500 new deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours globally. There have been 6,64,598 fatalities with 9,703,211 recovered cases. The overall recovery rate of the world stood at 58.2 percent.
On Tuesday, India hits the gruesome milestone of 15,00,000 coronavirus confirmed cases as new infected cases emerged to see a rise of more than 47000 for the fifth consecutive day. India reported 48,513 new cases over the past 24 hours, taking the total Covid-19 cases in the country to 15,31,669.
According to Ministry of Health data, the death toll rises to 34,193 with 768 new fatalities. There are 5,09,447 patients who are under active supervision whereas 9,88,029 patients have recovered. The current recovery rate of India is 64.24%.
Looking at the death count, India’s death rate remains below that of other large countries. Its mortality rate for those with the disease is 2.25%, compared with 3.4% for United States where around 149,256 people have died, 3.5% for Brazil, 15.2% for the United Kingdom among others.
Globally, India is the 3rd most affected country due to coronvirus outbreak. It has breached 15,00,000 mark in confirmed cases after US and Brazil. Germany.
According to the data, 5 states have crossed the bleak target of 1,00,000 cases in India which includes Maharashtra(3.8 lakh), Tamil Nadu(2.2 lakh), Delhi(1.3 lakh), Andra Pradesh(1.02 lakh) and Karnataka with 1.01 lakh.
