Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel interacted with media on Friday in which he talks about the people who returned to Chhattisgarh after attending Tablighi Jamat event in Delhi. He told people that samples of 50 people from Tablighi Jamaat, who returned from Nizamuddin in New Delhi, were taken for testing of COVID-19, out of which 28 reported negative.
Baghel told reporters that 107 people from Nizamuddin from Tablighi Jamaat have come to Chhattisgarh after attending the religious conference. Most of them were identified and kept in isolation. Out of them, more than 50 people have been tested, out of which 28 reports are negative and it is a matter of satisfaction.
According to senior state officials, many people of Tablighi Jamaat who had attended the event had returned to Chhattisgarh. Most of them are used to stay at mosques and other nearby places. Officials of the state health department said that the department is investigating all the people who are coming back from any religious functions. If any of them are found to be corona infected, then the rest will be tested.
While addressing, Chief Minister Baghel also condemned the PM’s idea of burning lamps on April 5. He said that the message of people burning lamps and candles in their homes, to show solidarity in the fight against the coronavirus is not appropriate at this moment of time. Baghel said that the lamp was lit when Lord Rama triumphed and returned to Ayodhya. But now Hundreds of people have died from Corona and people are in panic stage. I do not think it is appropriate in such a situation.
