Coronavirus: UP to impose statewide lockdown from 10 pm today till 5 am on July 13
Uttar-Pradesh: As the number of novel coronavirus cases is on high surge in Uttar Pradesh, the state government on Thursday announced two-day statewide complete lockdown i.e. from 10 pm on July 10 to 5 am on July 13. Only emergency and essential services will remain available during this period.
Uttar Pradesh, where the Covid-19 tally has crossed 32,000 announced Thursday evening a complete weekend shutdown from Friday 10 pm till Monday 5 am.
The order, issued by State Chief Secretary R K Tiwari to the district and police administration on Friday, said the restrictions are being imposed to control the spread of “Covid-19 and communicable diseases like malaria, encephalitis, dengue and kala-azar”.
Trains will continue to operate as per schedule, an order issued by UP Chief Secretary Rajendra Tiwari said.
Meanwhile, In West Bengal, another week of complete lockdown kicked in Thursday afternoon across containment zones. The Covid-19 tally in Bengal has gone past 25,000.
Whereas Patna district administration on Wednesday decided to impose complete lockdown in the Bihar’s capital from July 10 to 16 to break the chain of the deadly virus.
India has recorded over 26000 cases in a single day on Thursday, taking the total cases to over 7,93,000 mark.
