India reports 62,258 new Covid cases, 60% of them from Maharashtra

New Delhi: Coronavirus trailing back to its emergence phase. The health ministry reported 62,276 fresh cases in the last 24 hours. the 3.8% active ratio of the country represents 4,49,447 active cases. The rise in infections has pushed the death count to 1,61,275 after the novel virus claimed 292 deaths. WHO reports 125,160,255 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 2,748,737 deaths. statistics by WHO ranks India third worst hit country after America and Brazil. High test positivity rates have smeared the recuperations. MoHFW reported only 30,341 recoveries against the double rise of the caseload.

Maharashtra has begun its preparations for Sunday lockdown across4 districts. Shopping malls are ordered to shut down by 8 pm today. The state represents the highest active ratio majorly from Pune. The state health authorities have vaccinated around 53 lakh individuals.
