COVID-19 Update: 24,716 New Cases recorded nationwide; total tally reaches 1.01 crore
New Delhi: In India, a total of 24,716 active cases have been reported from the last 24 hours, with which the caseload in the country has surged to 1,01,24,024.
The number of currently active cases in the country is 2,81,844, keeping the active caseload in the country below the 3 lakh-mark for three days at a stretch.
Meanwhile, 29,946 people have recovered from the viral disease since yesterday, pushing the total number of recovered population to 96,92,643. On the other hand, 315 people have lost the battle against this deadly virus in yesterday’s county, which has taken the total number of deceased people to 1,46,791.
In the national capital, the infection rate has been decreased to less than 2% for the last few days. A total of 871 COVID-19 cases has been recorded in Delhi throughout the last 24 hours. Satyender Jain, the Health Minister of Delhi, has remarked – “The situation seems to be mellow for now”.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has enforced new SOPs in the arrival of all international passengers in each of the international airports, after the UK Prime Minister’s announcement about the newly traced COVID-19 strain. The SOPs will be applicable for passengers who transited through UK in the past 4 weeks or directly arrived from the country.
