CWG 2022: Lovepreet Singh Wins Bronze Medal in 109 Kg Weightlifting

Lovepreet Singh stayed in the race with a 192 kg lift in the third and final attempt of clean and jerk and secured a bronze medal as Cameroon lifter lifts 196 kgs to go past his total. He set a new national record in C and J with a lift of 192 kgs. Tulika Maan secures place in Judo of 78kgs quarter-final match against Tracy Durhone of Mauritius.
In hockey, the Indian contingent took lead against Salima Tete against Canada. India’s top women’s singles player and the favourite for the women’s singles gold medal here, PV Sindhu is now focusing on the individual events after their defeat to Malaysia in the Mixed Team competition at the Commonwealth Games.
India’s medal tally on Day 6th stands at 13 which includes five gold, four silver and four bronze. The gold medals have come from weightlifting (three), lawn bowls (one), and table tennis (one).
