COVID scare at the upcoming IPL match in Pune between DC and PBKS has coerced authorities to shift the match venue to Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium.
Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh had to be hospitalised after testing positive for COVID, taking the total count to four cases in the Capitals’ camp. However, final call for conducting the match will be taken after reports of other suspected players arrive on Tuesday.
“Delhi Capitals all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has tested positive for COVID-19, following which he has been admitted to a hospital. The Delhi Capitals medical team is closely monitoring Marsh’s condition,” the Capitals said in a statement.”
In a media release, the IPL said it has shifted Wednesday’s match from the MCA stadium in Pune to Braborune stadium “to avoid any further incident due to any undetected case during a long-distance bus journey in a closed environment.”
“All remaining members of the bubble are currently in isolation in their respective rooms, and will be tested regularly,” the franchise added.
Earlier, physio Farhart and massuer tested positive towards COVID-19. PBKS and DC were scheduled to lock horns in Pune on Wednesday.
