Fadnavis Gets Home and Finance; Shinde Keeps PWD for Himself

- Devendra Fadnavis to head home, finance and law ministries.
- Shinde assigns himself the ministries of PWD, urban development, social justice, environment and minorities affairs to himself.
- Shinde took oath as the CM 45 days ago.
Maharashtra: 45 days after coming into power, the Shinde faction has allocated portfolios to its ministers, with Fadnavis bagging the Home and Finance roles in the cabinet. Fadnavis has also been allotted the ministries of law and justice, housing, power supply and water resources.
Shinde has kept the ministries of the public works department (PWD), urban development, social justice, environment and minorities affairs for himself.
The Ministry of Revenue is handed over to Former Leader of Opposition Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, who had jumped from the Congress to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the 2019 assembly elections.
The Forest and Techincal and Higher Education portfolio was assigned to BJP minister Sudhir Mungantiwar and Former state President Chandrakant Patil. Patil is also entitled to head the Parliamentary affairs. The school education ministry will be ordered by Deepak Kersarkar while Abdul Sattar will be authorized to take decisions on the Agriculture Portfolio.
On Tuesday, Shinde inducted 18 members to his cabinet.
