Gandhi Takes a Dig at Modi Govt During his Visit to Raipur
Raipur: Former Congress President Gandhi was welcomed by Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel and other party members at 12 pm from where the Congress cavalcade left for Raipur Science College.
Prior to addressing the gathering at the Science ground, the High Command launched the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana and the Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club Scheme. Under the scheme, the CM transferred the first instalment of Rs 3.55 lakh to the beneficiaries. As per the scheme farmers and labours of the state would get three financial assistance of Rs 6,000 each throughout the year. Overall a sum of Rs 212 crore has been sanctioned for the scheme.
Addressing the gathering, Gandhi initiated an attack on the Modi Govt. BJP dividing our country into 2 new nations- One with select billionaires, 100-500 people and 2nd with crores of poor. They think India’s poor are scared, but they aren’t scared of anyone. Development is not any party’s gift but efforts of poor, farmers.” At around 2:30 pm, the Chhattisgarh Amar Jawan Jyoti was lit honouring the martyrs who lost lives in the line of duty. Apart from these, Gandhi during his day-long stay also visited the Units of Minor Produce, Kanker Valley Sitaphal project, science exhibition organized by children of the Swami Atmanand English Medium school, C-Mart, Gauthans. Tasting the filter coffee from Jhiram of Darbha at Bastar Café, he advised the owners to make the brand an international identity
