Mumbai: Ever seen gold being poured from a coffee jar? The customs officials at the Mumbai International Airport seized 3.8 kg of undeclared gold camouflaged in coffee powder bottles and some private items. Women flyers from Kenya who arrived from Sharjah on Sunday were detained with the gold for a thorough check.

Officials reportedly arrested one Kenyan woman who was carrying gold in large quantities. Nearly 18 Kenyan nationals were screened at the airport. A brief security check disclosed gold in the form of bars, wires and powder concealed in coffee powder bottles, lining of private wear, footwear and masala bottles. Gold worth Rs 1.52 crore was seized from them officials informed.

The women are being questioned with the probe in process.
