Government Hostels to Be Inspected: CM Baghel

Chhattisgarh: After the arrest of the caretaker and the watchman of the Samarth Divyang Kendra run under Rajiv Gandhi Education Mission, CM Baghel has announced a detailed inspection of all government hostels. For the inspection, the district collectors have been instructed to deploy District Education Officer, Assistant Commissioner Tribal Development and a few district-level senior officers. Baghel has stated that strict legal action would be taken against those officers found neglecting their duties and involved in unethical practices.

As per the instructions given by the CM, officials will interact with the girls of the government hostels and take details of the condition of the hostel.

On September 22nd, 5 girls at the Divyang Kendra Jashpur were molested and raped by intoxicated Narendra Bhagat and watchman Rajesh Ram. After this incident came to the fore,  an FIR was lodged against the accused. Jashpur Collector Mahadev Kanwre and Jashpur Superintendent of Police Vijay Agarwal, Additional SP Pratibha Pandey and an interpreter were sent to the Divayng Kendra to take an insight into the incident. The duo was arrested on Friday and was produced in court following which they were sent into custody.
