Gyanvapi Case: Adv Representing Masjid Committee Passes Away

New Delhi: Abhay Nath Yadav, senior advocate who was representing the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee in the Gyanvapi case, passed away due to cardiac arrest late Sunday. Sources from the family informed that, the senior lawyer 62 was declared dead on arrival by hospital staff.

Yadav was a prominent lawyer representing the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee in the case. The Allahabad High Court had last week adjourned the hearing of the case till August 3 challenging the maintainability of a 1991 suit seeking right to worship by Hindu petitioners. Yadav was a prominent part of the hearing to be held on August 4th, lawyers im the know said.

The suit was filed seeking the restoration of the ancient temple at the site where the Gyanvapi mosque currently stands. The petitioners claimed in the suit that the mosque is a part of the temple.
