NEW DELHI: Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is set to hold a virtual meeting with Indian Medical Association today on the COVID-19 situation and preparedness.
India on Monday, added 196 fresh infections as the country celebrated Christmas amidst fear of resurgence. The number of active cases rose to 3,428 accounting for 0.01 percent of the total number of cases. The recovery rate was recorded at 98.80 percent and the total recoveries stood at 4,41,43,179
However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 percent with the cumulative death toll at 5,30,695, the updated data by the Health Ministry mentioned on Monday.
With the administration of 29,818 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 220.025 crores.
As per reports, less than 0.5 percent of International arrivals in the National capital until Sunday evening screened for COVID-19 have returned positive.
