Heavy Rainfall In MP; Orange Alert Across 10 Districts

Bhopal: After recording incessant rains for the past 24 hours in Rewa, Shahdol, Jabalpur and Sagar districts of Madhya Pradesh, the Met dept has issued an orange alert across 10 districts. Isolated rainfall was also recorded in Bhopal, Narmdapuram, Gwalior and Chambal divisions.

State capital Bhopal since Wednesday morning has remained cloudy with parts of the city receiving rain in the afternoon. Khajuraho in the past 24 hours has recorded the highest rainfall in the state that ended this morning.

The IMD in the forecast issued for UP aslo hinted heavy rainfall spell over Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh for three days. A low-pressure area lies over West-central Bay of Bengal off the Andhra Pradesh coast. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards towards the Andhra Pradesh coast during the next 24 hours, IMD said in its forecast.

East Madhya Pradesh is likely to witness rainfall during 4-7 October while West Madhya Pradesh shall witness the spur from tomorrow onwards for the upcoming 24 hours.

The Vijayadashmi celebrations in the state have been affected by the monsoon departure. Ravan Effigies have been relocated to a safer place and arrangements are being made to carry out the Ravan Dahan in the evening.
