IACP to Honour Koriya SP Santosh for Innovative Policing During COVID-19

Chhattisgarh: The International Association of Chief Police (IACP) has announced to confer ‘Under 40 award 2021’ to Chattisgarh’s Superintendent of Police from Koriya district.  IACP has recognized SP Santosh Singh among two officers of the nation and 40 others across the world. SP Santosh has been appreciated for his outstanding efforts and initiative towards innovative policing to head the society towards betterment.

Singh today held a crime review meeting in the Police Headquarters Conference Hall here recently to discuss the rising crime graph, pending challans and complaints of every Police station. He asked officials to register cases immediately in cognizable offences and deal with the complaints immediately. He also instructed all the SHOs to take necessary action against the people who do not follow COVID protocols.

Posted for over three and half years now, SP Santosh Singh of 2011 IPS Batch, has served in several perilous regions of the state including Bastar. Speaking to local news reported, SP Santosh said that he would continue to serve the community as a Khaki person and aims to extend help to as many as possible. As per information provided by the SP, the date of the award ceremony has not yet been finalized.

Singh as a Raigarh SP distributed 1.24 million free masks within six hours and created a unique world record. Apart from ensuring appropriate COVID behaviour, he also engaged in operating a free food distribution campaign during the first and second wave.  Singh has also received recognition from the Bureaucrats India, a Delhi based organization for promoting Good Governance and Innovation during COVID-19.

The IACP is the world’s largest and most influential association for police leaders.  It is recognized in global policing, committed to advancing safer communities through thoughtful, progressive police leadership.
