Story Highlights
  • India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup match cannot be cancelled, this is ICC commitment: Rajeev Shukla.
  • The match between India and Pakistan is scheduled to take place on October 24th.
  • The demand for cancelling India vs Pakistan match at T20 World Cup 2021 was bought by Union Minister Giriraj Singh.

Rajeev Shukla, vice-president of the BCCI, has stated that India cannot refuse to play with Pakistan due to the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) international obligations. Due to political tensions between the 2 countries, Union Minister Giriraj Sing recently asked that the India-Pakistan match on October 24th be cancelled in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021.

Rajeev Shukla has stated unequivocally that the match between India and Pakistan would be played as scheduled and will not be postponed. “We strongly condemn the assassinations (J&K). Terrorist organisations should be dealt with strictly. In terms of the match, you can’t decline to play against anyone because of the ICC’s international commitments. You must participate in ICC tournaments” Rajeev Shukla was mentioned in the article.

In the meantime, India captain Virat Kohli remarked in a news conference on Saturday that any match against arch-rivals Pakistan is just another game of cricket. When asked how he felt about Pakistan, Kohli answered, “I honestly never felt such.” I’ve just approached this game as another game of cricket, and I know there’s a lot of hype around this game, especially with ticket sales and demands for tickets,” Kohli said. “My friends are requesting tickets left and right, and I’m saying no,” he exclaimed.
