ICC Test Rankings: Ravindra Jadeja is new No.1 All-rounder
- Ravindra Jadeja moves to number 1 in ICC Test Ranking.
- Pushed West Indies player Jason Holder to second position.
- He won the Player of the Match Award in the Mohali Test against Sri Lanka.
Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja moved to the top of the latest ICC rankings for an all-rounder in Tests, which comes as an achievement for the brilliant show he set up in Mohali against Sri Lanka.
Jadeja, who scored an unbeaten 175 and claimed 9 wickets against Sri Lanka in the last Test, overtook Jason Holder of West Indies as the top all-rounder. This is the second time Jadeja reached the summit of the Test all-rounder rankings, he was No.1 for a week in August 2017for the first time.
Jadeja moved up from the 54th to 37th among batters and reached 17th among the bowlers. Holder of West Indies now stands at the second spot slipping Ashwin to the third spot. He broke the unbeaten record set up by Kapil Dev, who against the same enemies scored 163 not out at a match in Kanpur in 1986.
Meanwhile, Kohli moved back to the top 5 and is fifth on the Test batters’ rankings and Rishabh Pant entered the top 10 on the back of his swashbuckling 96-run knock in Mohali.
