Bangladesh: In the first match of the Test series against Bangladesh, the Indian team played well on the very first day. By the end of the day’s play, Team India has scored 278 runs losing six wickets, and has reached close to a good score. If the Indian team scores 70 runs after losing the last four wickets, then they will be able to put up a challenging score in front of the Bangladesh team on a difficult pitch. 

Indian captain Lokesh Rahul won the toss and decided to bat first. He gave a good start along with Shubhman Gill. However, Gill was dismissed after scoring 20 runs. At this time the team’s score was 41 runs. Captain Rahul and Virat Kohli were also dismissed soon after Gill returned to the pavilion. The Indian team was in trouble after losing three wickets for 48 runs. By lunch on the first day, India had lost three crucial wickets with a score of 85 runs. After this, Pant and Pujara handled the Indian innings, both shared a 64-run partnership for the fourth wicket. After this, Pant also got out after scoring 46 runs. 

Pujara along with Shreyas led the innings thereon. Both batted brilliantly and completed their respective half-centuries. However, Pujara got out at the end of the day just before he could reach his century. He played an inning of 90 runs. Shreyas and Pujara shared a 149-run partnership for the fifth wicket. This partnership brought the Indian team back into the match. These two took India’s score from 112/4 to 261/5. After this, Akshar added 19 runs with Shreyas, but he was also dismissed on the last ball of the day. Now Shreyas Iyer remains at the crease. He is unbeaten after scoring 82 runs in 169 balls. At the same time, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammad Siraj, and Umesh Yadav are also left to bat. 

On the other hand, Bangladesh’s Taijul Islam took three wickets for the team on the first day. At the same time, Mehdi Hasan Miraj got two wickets. Khaled Ahmed also got a breakthrough. The pitch at Chattogram has been helping spin bowlers since day one. Taking advantage of this, Bangladesh’s spin bowlers took five wickets. Now on the second day, Bangladesh bowlers will try to contain the Indian team quickly. At the same time, Team India would like to cross the 350-run mark.
