IND v/s AUS 4th Test: Rohit Sharma, Gill Take India to 36/0 v/s Aus at Stumps

Subham Gill and Rohit Sharma made sure the day ended without losing a wicket after skittling out Australia for 480 in the first innings. India were 36/0 at stumps, trailing Australia by 446 runs with Gill and Rohit batting unbeaten on 17 and 18 respectively. India leads the series 2-1 as of Friday.

The visitors on closed Day 2 with a magnificent score of 480 as Usman Khwaja struck a majestic 180 and Cameron Green smashed his maiden test hundred powering the team in the final test against India.

Khawaja and Green were the bedrock of Australia’s innings with a 208-run stand for the fifth wicket, the highest partnership from either side in the bowler-dominated series.

Khawaja’s batting masterpiece was spread over 10 hours during which the opener faced 422 balls, the most by an Australian batter in India, hitting 21 fours.

Ravichandran Ashwin was the most successful bowler for India as he picked up five wickets including that of Green. He managed to glove the ball to wicketkeeper KS Bharat breaking the streak while Axar managed to remove Khwaja. Todd Murphy (41) and Nathan Lyon (34) chipped in with useful cameos before Ashwin wrecked their lower order. Mohammed Shami had taken two wickets for the day.
