Rohit Sharma batted in style leading the men in blue against NZ in the T20Is this season. Chosing to bat first, Rohit slammed 56-run off 31 balls to set up the foundation for India’s 73-run win to whitewash the black cap players. The debutant captain broke Virat Kohli’s massive record in T20Is during his sublime knock. Striking 25 half-centuries and 5 centuries in the shortest format of the game, Rohit surpassed former captain.
Ishan Kishan (29 off 21 balls), Shreyas Iyer (25 off 20 balls) and Venkatesh (20 off 15 balls) took the stance however couldnt fetch a big score. Once you’ve seen the pitch you know what you’ve got to do. It was nicely coming onto the bat with the dew coming early. We had something planned as a batting group. Wouldn’t say runorked out well. Room for improvement in the middle order.” He further appreciated performances staged by Ashwin, Axar and Chahal. With this win, India won the three-match series 3-0 with a score of 184/7 agaisnt 111-all out in 17.2 overs. Both the teams will square off in two-match Test series, beginning Thursday in Kanpur.
