Kanjhawala Accident: Anjali Was Drunk; Friend Who Fled After Accident Says

NEW DELHI: Latest developments reveal that Anjali, the scooty-bound woman who was hit and dragged by a car in Sultanpuri, Kanjhawala was under the influence of alcohol. Nidhi, the friend of deceased Anjali, informed the media.

Nidhi- the pillion rider with Anjali in a statement to the cops revealed that Anjali was drunk while she was riding the two-wheeler. Interacting with the media, Nidhi said that despite her persuasion to ride the motorcycle, Anjali insisted that she rides despite being under the influence of alcohol.

The 20-year-old girl who died due to shock, and hemorrhage owing to multiple fractures- as per autopsy reports was cremated amidst high security on Tuesday night. A panel of three doctors from Maulana Azad Medical College who conducted the autopsy has ruled “shock and hemorrhage as a result of antemortem injury to the head, spine, left femur and both lower limbs” as the provisional cause of death.

Five men who are accused of culpable homicide among other sections were sent to 3-day police custody on Monday. Singh died on Sunday on her way home. A Baleno had hit her scooter, following which her body got stuck underneath the vehicle, and was dragged for at least 12 kilometers. By the time the body was found, her clothes had been torn off, and her back was completely scraped.
