Story Highlights
  • Karnataka Govt declared SSLC 10th result on Monday, Aug 9th
  • A total of 871,463 students appeared for the exam this year
  • Govt keen or reopening schools soon

The result of the Karnataka SSLC was awaited for a long time since the students appeared for the exams this year, unlike other states who have mostly not conducted the board exams for the ongoing pandemic. Out of the 871,463 students that appeared for the exams this year, 99.9% have passed with flying colors. A good thing is that boys have outperformed girls and have achieved a 100% pass score as compared to the girls who have a 99.9% passing score.

The education minister of Karnataka BC Nagesh declared the results later on Monday. “99.9 percent of the students have passed SSLC exams. The results proved that students had worked hard and took the exams seriously. 13 percent of students were given grace marks”, he said in the press conference. While 1.28 lakh students have managed to secure a grade “A” in the exam, the number of students securing a perfect score of 625 out of 625 stands at 157. Subject-wise, most of them have a perfect score in math, followed by science and social science.

The Karnataka Govt is keen on reopening schools for at least students of classes 9-12 given the study load they have. Addressing this issue, Nagesh further said, “The Chief Minister held several meetings (on reopening schools) with concerned people. Schools have to be started. We are taking all extra care. We are also thinking of reopening primary schools as well”. As for now, the Karnataka Govt has continued with a night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am to control the ongoing pandemic condition in the state.
