Madhya Pradesh: Congress To Quit MP President Post; MLA Gautam Take Charge

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Assembly speaker will be elected today. According to sources, Congress has decided not to take the contest for the post of President. After which Girish Gautam of BJP is being considered as an uncontested candidate. Gautam will be the 18th Speaker of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly.

Earlier on Sunday, Girish Gautam filed his nomination for the speaker of the Assembly. Gautam Rewa is MLA from the Devpond assembly constituency in district Gautam.

Gautam has been the MLA for the Vindhya region for the past 4 times. He is the second leader who is elected the assembly chairman. Earlier, Congress leader Srinivas Tiwari had been the speaker of the state twice.
