Men of the Family Rape Minor Daughter for Years
- A 11 year old girl was being raped by her father and brother from past five years.
- Grandfather and distant uncle also assaulted the girl physically.
- Pune Police booked the accused under IPC sections 376 and 354 and POSCO Act.
Pune: A minor girl was allegedly raped by her father and brother, Pune police officials stated on Saturday. The grandfather and a distant uncle also molested her on repeated occasions said police adding that the crime was being committed over the last five years.
A case has been registered under various sections of IPC for the rape and molestation of a minor. The father aged 45 and brother have been booked under IPC 376, while the grandfather and the distant uncle are charged under Section 354 ( assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), the officials informed. Sections of POSCO are also going to be added, police said.
The 11-year-old victim hails from Bihar and had relocated to Pune with the family. On preliminary investigation, it was learnt that the incident surfaced when the girl shared her perception on a lecture at good and bad touch at her school.
According to Ashwini Satpute, the officer investigating the crime, the atrocious attempts by her father began in 2017 when the family resided in Bihar. Following which in 2020 November, the elder brother also began assaulting the minor, police said quoting the complaint. The complaint further informed that her grandfather and the distant uncle used to give her inappropriate touch.
Responding to questions of gang rape, Inspector Satpute said that since all the incidents have different timelines, it is speculated that none are aware of each other’s deeds.
