MP First State to Work on Ease of Health Services

Indore: Pressing the media at the Mahatma Gandhi College, Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang announced the introduction of ‘Mareez Mitra’ Scheme in all associated hospitals of govt medical colleges in the state. The scheme is aimed to ensure Ease of Health Services.

Madhya Pradesh would be the first state to work on Ease of Health Services. Under the scheme, social workers who want to serve the patients would work as a bridge between the doctors, hospital administration, and patients to learn about the issues and to ensure better facilities for the patients.

In the same meeting, he re-inforced CM SS Chauhan’s announcement made on Republic Day. CM Chauhan had made an announcement about teaching MBBS and other medical courses in Hindi. A 14-member committee headed by Medical Education Director Dr Jiten Shukla has been constituted to prepare the work plan for the MBBS Hindi curriculum. “In the first phase, students who opt for Hindi as the medium of instruction will be taught in Hindi and English for two months each. Further steps will be taken after their assessment. In the second phase, supplementary books for Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry subjects will be prepared,” a public relations officer said.

Speaking on the same lines, Sarang said, “ Taking the step for the same, we will become the first state in the country to provide MBBS education in Hindi and I have met the experts in Indore to discuss the same but an official meeting will be held soon. We will start the first session of MBBS in Hindi as a pilot project in Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal from the next session.”
