MP Likely to Witness Rains from October 4th
New Delhi: Even as the Monsoon is likely to withdraw from some more states in the north, including Punjab & Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, and Delhi, heavy rainfall activity is likely to continue in the Southern states for the next few days. “Isolated heavy rainfall spell over South Peninsular India during next 2 days,” the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its bulletin.
A cyclonic circulation lies over Westcentral Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast in lower tropospheric levels, the IMD said adding, “A cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge into northeast & adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal around October 1″
According to the Met Dept effects of the above system are likely in Madhya Pradesh. On October 4th, the Eastern and northeastern districts of Madhya Pradesh are expected to witness visible showers. The following day the entire MP is expected to receive heavy rains which may continue until October 7th. As the low-pressure area weakens from October 8th, it is likely that the rains will withdraw.
These unseasonal rains in the central state of India, are likely to cause heavy damage to standing crops as the harvesting season is at its peak in the state.
