Naxal Influenced by “Lon Varattu’ Surrenders in Dantewada

Dantewada: A Naxal surrender in Dantewada police officials said. The surrendered Naxal is identified as Hunga Kodopi father of Kodopi, hailing from Burkhanpara Sameli Militia member.
Sources report the Naxal surrendered before the Deputy Inspector General of Police, CRPF and SP of Dantewada Police.
He cited ‘ Lon Varattu’ as the reason for his surrender, the officials added.
Under ‘Lon Varattu’ a homecoming program launched by the Dantewada Police so far 522 Naxals including 127 carrying bounty have quit violence in the Dantewada district since June 2020.
The Dantewada police in 2020 had launched a campaign named ‘Lon Varattu’ where the Maoists were appealed to return to normalcy and were given assistance once they surrendered.
