Raipur: Chhattisgarh Naxalites have expressed huge oppression against Amrit Mahotsav being held by the Central Administration. Naxalites of Chhag bordering Maharashtra have protested issuing pamphlets against the movement. Anandnagar and Halanjur witnessed large scale protests that instilled fear in residents of the neighboring villages. It is reported that police officials were deployed to disperse the crowd. 

Earlier this year, PM Modi had launched the ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ on March 12 to mark 91 years of Dandi March. He paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters who laid their lives for the freedom struggle.

The ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ will be celebrated on August 15, 2021, as India will complete 75 years of Independence. A national implementation committee headed by Home Minister Amit Shah formed the policies and events that need to be organized.
