NIA in Action- Raids Multiple Locations in North India

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday carried out raids at more than 50 locations in several states across northern India in an ongoing case against gangs and their nexus with terror groups. The central probe teams reached Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) to bust syndicates of drug dealers, traffickers, terrorists and gangsters based out of India.

Earlier on October 14, the NIA had conducted searches at multiple locations including the Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with a drone delivery case. The NIA registered cases against this nexus earlier this year. Gang leaders who are operating such terror and criminal activities were identified and booked.

Amongst those who were raided included gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s sharpshooters Raju Basodi and Akshay Palda — located in Haryana’s Sonipat. They are accused of carrying out more than two dozen serious criminal incidents in north India. Gangster Naresh Sethi an associate of Bishnoi was also searched in Haryana’s Jhajjar.

It also conducted raids today at two locations in Phulwari Sharif, Patna in connection with the PFI case of Patna.

So far the central probing team has raided 60 locations in the month of September during which radical outfits like PFI and its association were shut down and several members were detained across the nation.
