Old Road Contracts Suspended in MP, Gadkari Apologies for Bad Roads
Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh: Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has apologized for the bad road being built in Madhya Pradesh. He said, “If a mistake has been made, then an apology should also be made for it. I am not satisfied with the 63 km two-lane road being built from Barela to Mandla at a cost of Rs 400 crore. The officials have been told to suspend the road work that is pending. Repair old work. Invite a new tender. Make this road well constructed and complete it soon. I apologize for the trouble I have caused you so far.”
Gadkari said these things while addressing the gathering in Mandla. He laid the foundation stone of 5 National Highways of 329 km in length at Mandla at a cost of Rs 1261 crore. He had come to Mahakaushal to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate 543 km of roads to be built at a cost of Rs 5,315. He reached Jabalpur directly from Mandla to give a gift of Rs 4054 crore. It consists of 214 km long 8 National Highways.
