Bijapur: A Naxal was injured in an encounter near Chhote Sukanpalli Village under Tarrem police station limits Bastar SP Sundarraj said. The injured Maoists is admitted to the hospital for medical aid sources informed.
The encounter is reported to have occurred on Sunday between a joint force of the 210th battalion of the CoBRA, an elite unit of CRPF and the Naxals, while the former were on a search operation.
The Naxal reportedly suffered bullet injuries on his hand and was cordoned off after the firing ceased.
Sources report to have recovered 2 muzzle loading guns, explosives, detonators and firecrackers from the camp they capsized. The injured Naxalite will be arrested after recovering from his injuries, police officials said.
Earlier on Sunday, a Naxal was killed in an encounter at the forest near Thimmapuram village under Chintalnar police station limits. With this action, seven ultras have been killed in five separate encounters between security forces and Naxals in the state’s Bastar region in the last two weeks, according to police.
